Yoga Therapy

Individual Sessions

“Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress towards improved health and wellbeing through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.” International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Yoga Therapy is one-to-one sessions focusing on your needs. It is particularly helpful if you have a long-term condition, suffer from stress, or want to take control over your own health. They can take place in my yoga room or in your home. No yoga experience is necessary.

Yoga Therapy is about promoting self-care. General yoga classes are always beneficial and will have positive effects on your wellbeing, but specialist, individual yoga therapy can support your unique circumstances, address your particular needs and develop a program of postures, breathwork, relaxation and more just for you. Yoga therapy looks at health on many levels and aims to work with you as a whole person. Some of the conditions Yoga Therapy can support include, anxiety, IBS, obesity, eating disorders, diabetes, insomnia, arthritis, parkinson’s and cancer.

A first yoga therapy session will involve discussions, assessments and the introduction of practices. There is no need to be experienced in yoga, there is no physical barrier either, practices will help you just as you are and may be chair based if required.

Once the individual program is developed, you will carry it out at home on a regular basis as benefits will gradually build. The program will then be updated as needed.

The number and frequency of sessions needed will vary but a block of six weekly sessions would be typical.

Yoga Therapy can support anybody – no health concern is too great or too small. Sessions are client focussed and whatever your ‘journey’ I endeavour to work with you with kindness, gentleness and a little bit of humour.

Sessions are usually an hour and cost from £30.
